Hello! I’m Charlotte, a literary translator, book reviewer and photographer based in Hastings, UK. Originally from France, I moved to England in 2013, moved to Canada in 2017, and back to the UK in 2019. After several years of cinema, theatre and musical studies, I co-directed a theatre company and worked both on stage and backstage from 2008 to 2012, while working as a book reviewer. I am now a full-time literary translator and reviewer. Living abroad has turned me into a minimalist and a “less is more” advocate. I try to lead a cruelty-free and sustainable lifestyle, and try to minimize my environmental impact to the best of my abilities. Photography and filmmaking have always been two passions of mine. I rarely get out of the house without a camera and spend too much a lot of my time on Instagram. When I’m not translating a book or taking pictures, you will find me baking (and eating) vegan cookies, watching Friends (for the 465th time), playing the guitar, reading Harry Potter (for the 329th time) and quoting Jacques Demy musicals.
